The new deck is a continuous truss in a composite steel-concrete system with five 58+92+60+42 m spans. The first section of the structure is curved with a radius of curvature of 550 m and then proceeds through a straight Euler spiral.

The concrete slab accommodates the road platform and two pavements, with an overall width of 13.50 m; it is framed on the main girders, which are 9 m apart, and on the intermediate pin beam. The slab, with a total thickness of 27 cm, is cast in situ on self-supporting concrete predalles.

The beams vary in height from a minimum of 2.80 m at the span to a maximum of 5.30 m at the pier and are inclined at an angle of approximately 20° to the normal axis of the lower platform.

They are connected by lattice-type diaphragms positioned at a constant centre distance of 5.5 m and by a lower bracing in the form of a St. Andrew’s cross, which is required to ensure torsion-rigid caisson behaviour.

Assembly of the deck is carried out by lifting the individual beams from below with the aid of a crane truck, after assembly of the segments on the ground and subsequent forward advancement.
