Maintenance and reconstruction works on the “Leonardo da Vinci” bridge continue

Construction works are proceeding for the new “Leonardo da Vinci” Bridge deck on the former S.P. 325 in Sasso Marconi (BO).

The pre-existing concrete bridge was built in the late ‘50s to a design by Prof. Bottau.

The aim of the project is to safeguard and reinforce the original arches spanning 144 m over the Rhine, creating a new and lighter hybrid steel/concrete deck.

Upon completion, this important roadway will be returned to the community just two years after its closure in March 2021.
